The Committee for the Scientific Investigation of Claims of the Paranormal (CSICOP)
The Committee for the Scientific Investigation of Claims of the Paranormal (CSICOP) encourages the critical investigation of paranormal and fringe-science claims from a responsible, scientific point of view and disseminates factual information about the results of such inquiries to the scientific community, the media, and the public. It also promotes science and scientific inquiry, critical thinking, science education, and the use of reason in examining important issues.
To carry out these objectives the Committee:
- Publishes Skeptical Inquirer magazine

Sponsors publications and newsletters across the world including the Spanish
Pensar and the UK
Skeptic
- Conducts public and media outreach efforts through the Council for Media Integrity
- Maintains an international network of groups and individuals interested in critically examining paranormal, fringe-science, and related claims
- Convenes conferences and meetings at the local, national and international levels
- Conducts educational programming and development through the Inquiring Minds program
- Maintains web sites of consumer interest, including Camp Inquiry, the Skeptic's Toolbox, the Skeptiseum, and Phil Klass' UFO Files.
- Does not reject claims on a priori grounds, antecedent to inquiry, but examines them objectively and carefully
CSICOP is a nonprofit scientific and educational organization, in operation for over twenty-five years. The Skeptical Inquirer, published six times a year, is its official journal. Skeptical Briefs newsletter is available to Associate Members.

The Council for Secular Humanism (CSH)
The Council for Secular Humanism (CSH) cultivates rational inquiry, ethical values, and human development through the advancement of secular humanism. To carry out its mission the Council for Secular Humanism sponsors publications, programs, and organizes meetings and other group activities.
The Council's specific objectives are:
- To promote secular humanist principles to the public, media, and policy-makers
- To provide secular humanist activities and communities to serve the needs of nonreligious people and foster human enrichment
- To demonstrate the viability of the secular humanist eupraxophy as an alternative naturalistic life-stance
- To engage in research relating to the critical examination of religious and supernatural claims and the humanist outlook
- To conduct educational programs for all age levels
CSH is a nonprofit organization. Free Inquiry, published six times a year, is its official journal.
The Commission for Scientific Medicine and Mental Health (CSMMH)
The Commission for Scientific Medicine and Mental Health (CSMMH) is devoted to the scientific examination of unproven alternative medicine and mental health therapies and the dissemination of investigative findings to the media, the academic community, and to the general public.

The Committee for the Scientific Examination of Religion (CSER)
The Committee for the Scientific Examination of Religion (CSER) is a research division of the Center for Inquiry. Since its 1983 founding in Washington, DC, the Committee has worked to encourage humanistic, critical and non-parochial approaches to the study of religious traditions and institutions and to develop programs which promote the public understanding of religion in an international context.
CSER's activities include the following:
- The sponsorship of conferences and seminars at university sites in the United States and abroad.
- Short courses and seminars held in conjunction with the Center for Inquiry or its affiliated organizations.
- In cooperation with Prometheus Books the publication of classic works of religious studies scholarship and newer titles in the critical study of religion.
- The publication of a Quarterly Review in print and web formats.
